Great Yarmouth Beer and Cider Festival
The 2008 Great Yarmouth Beer and Cider Festival is being held again this year over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.

The venue for the Beer Festival is the historic Priory Centre just north of the Market Place, adjacent to St. Nicholas Church. The Priory has a wonderful, oak beamed, high ceiling in the Grand Hall that really lends itself to a festival celebrating traditional Real Ales and locally produced Ciders.

The event has attracted a great deal of interest from independent brewers from around the region and it is anticipated that some 30 breweries will participate, providing over 60 real ales, bitters and ciders for enthusiasts to sample over the weekend. A feature of this year’s event will be the Charter Ale specially brewed from a medieval recipe by the award winning Blackfriars brewery to commemorate the 800th Anniversary of Great Yarmouth’s King John Charter.

The Festival opens for its first session at 4pm on Friday 23rd May followed by two sessions daily at 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 11pm on Saturday 24th May, 12pm to 4pm and 5pm to 11pm on Sunday 25th May with the last session being at 11am to 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday 26th May.
